Hudson River Rafting Company specializes in group rafting trips. School groups, scouts, corporate outings, religious groups, camp groups, family reunions, an order of nuns looking to get away from it all – you name it, we’ve taken them down the river. Whitewater rafting is a great way to build team work and leadership skills. Our guides are trained to work with diverse groups of people and can help you accomplish the goals your group sets out for the day. There’s nothing like being on the river to relax, bond and get reenergized. We have special group rates each season. We also provide camping behind our Hudson River base camp and depending on the size of the group are willing to arrange transportation to and from the river if needed and if not already offered, an after rafting barbeque. Give us a call so we can help you plan a great outdoor experience!

Lake George hosts many events and does a great job at every one. Two favorites are Americade in June and the Adirondack Nationals in September. You just can’t beat walking around town seeing thousands of beautiful vehicles with the backdrop of the Adirondack Mountains and Lake George. The streets are filled with people having fun and there are plenty of restaurants and gift shops. Even if you don’t want to pay to get into the official event, the whole town is really an event, itself.

Americade is a week long event centered around the sport and beauty of motorcycles. This is not like Sturgis, so don’t worry about bringing the kids. Whether you sign up for the event and attend all the activities or just go for a day, it is impossible not be impressed with the number of bikes of all makes, models and eras. You’ll see riders who are the weekend warriors, the long time bikers and the newer crop of sport bikers. What is equally impressive is how friendly everyone is in the mix. Nighttime gets a little wilder but it’s always safe and you can just relax and have a great time.

The Adirondack Nationals is a similar event for classic cars. They come from all over and the quality of the restorations is unbelievable. People are friendly and you can learn or just look. You can talk to owners about technical things or draw out the stories of how they got the cars. Either aspect can bring tears to your eyes. And speaking of that, you’ll see some phenomenal paint jobs. You can just hear the cha-ching behind every one! Google Americade and Adirondack Nationals to get more info. If you have even ounce of “gearhead” in your blood, you will enjoy these events.

Searching for a fun vacation for our family, I happened upon the Lake George area by chance and boy, am I ever glad I did! We usually gravitate toward New England but our family just came back from the best time at Lake George Village. We happened to stay at the Georgian Inn right on the lake. The view of the lake surrounded by mountains was gorgeous. The pool was clean and fun. The main strip, Canada St, is full of people visiting the shops and restaurants. There is so much to do! Actually, the whole strip.. Canada St or Rt 9 is packed with shops, hotels, motels, restaurants and places for kids to have fun. There is Water World, Great Escape Six Flags, golf courses, music fesitvals on the lake, misc miniature golf and adventure areas. Outlet shopping is just south of the village .My kids took a parasail ride over Lake George and kayaked. You can rent waverunners, pontoon boats or small boats with just a drivers license and an age restriction. There are various boat trips up and down the narrow lake, some of which are steamships. It’s very scenic and historic as just north of Lake George Village was “Millionaire’s Row” with some of the old mansions still there along the lake. We actually added on 2 more days to take advantage of the great fun family atmosphere. The whole village is full of life and activity but still has a small town feel. It is a great place for families, couples, retirees…..actually everyone! It is definitely a place we will go again and again.
